Cruelty of life - Part 2

Some time last Saturday, some nano dust particle found its way into my eye, and kept irritating me.... In all my efforts to remove the agony, right from washing the eye a hundred times to poking and prodding, I managed to turn my eye to a colour that would have given Voldemort a run for his money.

To top things, we had booked tickets for "Godfather" - In Mayajaal.... Bloody sodding 200 Rs per ticket... Cant waste it can we, so forgetting about the eye, me goes and sees the movie... Only to have my eyes the size ofwater melons when I return back... My eye was red, puffy and swollen and the dust particle had still not come out...

So we go to ze doctor... Who by administrating weird maneuvers manages to take out the particle but comes to a conclusion that I have conjunctivitis, a special sort where it is not contagious, cos it was due to a dust particle and not the virus, but will continue to irritate me...

Thankfully due to the rains, sunday morning class was cancelled.... Wasnt planning to go anyway.....

And sunday, it slowly receeded... Thanks to the eye drops I had to take once an hour.... Still am taking :((

Monday, it got worse and I didnt go to school.. But thankfully me gets the news that it is a state declared holiday... God bless the rains

But today, morning I get up and my mom says you bloody well stay here... No BVB no culs.. Nothing..

And all I could do was curse my eye......

Vasu, dont worry dear... Misery always finds company.........

life is so cruel to me

today, culturals, teh great day of teh year, the only day i wish to attend more than anything in the whole wide world.. SCINTILLATIONS 2006 aand im stuck at home SICK :(( words cannot express how deeply irritated i am at god. all these days, its been raining wonderfully and all i had to manage was a runny nose and sneezing, not to mention school. but NOOOOOO.... i just had to go fall sick just on the day of scintilations. THIS IS NOT FAIR! LIFE IS NOT FAIR! IS ANYTHING FAIR?
people from other schools, my old friends are coming .. correction..going to my school culs which i cant attend...why? because of some shitty bacteria or virus or some lousy unicellular organism which i could squish under my finger.
:(( :(( :(( :((
waaaaah
what did i ever do to deserve this?
:(( :(( :(( :((
the only problem is fr the next couple of days, all everyone will be talking about is culturals. and i wont follow a word. and i'll be irritated beyond belief.
a humble request
DONT COME AND ASK ME "ohh vasu why didnt you come? you should have come.. we all had so much fun you know...it ws soooo interesting ..it was soo nice"
BLEH TO INTRESTING AND NICE.
BLEH TO SCINTILLATIONS.
BLEH TO UNICELLULAR ORGANISMS.
BLEH.
AMEN.
this lousy medicine makes me sleepy so im going back to bed. will be back later to vent frustrations, perhaps not here, but in my ramblings.
krishna
just called from bvb to say that they're all in special little seats in the balcony and enjoying themselves quite nicely.
talk about pouring oil on troubled waters.
its 8.15 am and life is so pathetic.
im going back to bed,
good.bye.

Listen to the rain

At last, after quite some time, rain has graced our Chennai....
Last time I was in school, which was Wednesday/Thursday I guess, I was just telling Shridar , "Wouldn't it be great for the school to be flooded?" And guess what, it did! And no before anyone asks, Frank did not make me do it. Sure I'm crazy but not that crazy. Cheers if you get the inside joke. I'm slowly recovering from some ailment.... sleeping is the only thing I'm doing at home... can't wait to get back to school. I've got a lot to look forward to... Scintillations... (it's good to know what hype you gotta live up to) If Flower Arrangement is going to be an event, I assume it's safe to say next year's is gonna be better, atleast by a few events. :D
It's awfully boring sitting and doing nothing ... there should be some excitement! Come on people create something good! >.< style="font-style: italic;">

Listen, listen...

Listen to each drop of rain
Whispering secrets in vain
Frantically searching for someone to hear
Their story before they hit ground
Please don't let go, can't we stay for a while?
It's just too hard to say goodbye...
Listen to the rain
Listen to the rain... weeping...

Listen, listen...

I stand alone in the storm
Suddenly sweet words take form
Hurry, they say, for you haven't much time
Open your eyes to the love around you
You may feel you're alone
But I'm here still with you
You can do what you dream
Just remember to listen to the rain

Listen...

Love school folks,

What fun. This Friday has totally changed my mindset towards school. What fun we had. Each and everyone was equal responsible. We seriously gelled as a team to create fun out of nothing. Right from when Andi entered class, we had fun. She first caught Srinivas blading to Raghu, and he escaped telling that he couldn't hear as everyone around him was making noice. This lead to Sori and Arjun being caught as when they were asked for an answer they were blinking blankly. Before things could come on to us, there was Zombie to the rescue. What an answer, only he had listened thoroughly it looked like. The highlight of the day was that Aathi had been sent out of class thrice , once by Andi , once by KSS, and once by Ramu sir. And Gokulakrishnan, he has guts man!! He wrote a program named "void ramu" and was caught by Ramamurthi sir, and that was another reason for some more fun. Then we had myself and Jeyenth plotting against Vishnuvardhan by putting some water on his place, but he had the last laugh making both of us drenched. Then there was Srinivas with uncombed hair, and after some dadagiri, I had his hair combed. Going home was delayed ,thanks to UV miss and the rains, but there was no class yesterday evening and so it didn't matter. And I doubt if we'll have school on Monday ,going by how the rain is going. School was totally flooded today and it is extremely doubtful that we will have school on Monday. But I think Scintillations is going to rock atleast because we would be able to bunk 1 day of school, thanks to it.And thank god, it is back to Bharitiya Vidya Bhavan after being last year at Dakshinamoorthy Hall.
So I'm off right now and shall be back later.

Ze Rains!

Its been raining cats and dogs, and its beautiful... This sort of weather kinda makes you wanna sit at home, just sit.. Listen to music maybe, and probably read a nice book or sip some hot chocolate.. .And yet, we can do none of them. All we can do is sit in the dingy classroom, with constant arguement as to whether keep the fans running or not, all the while cramming our head with physics.

Ironical isnt it?

The school grounds, (if we can call it that), is flooded. Water, water, nothing but water everywhere..... Its been quite some time since it rained this way in Chennai and its quite a welcome change from the dry heat that we are used to......

Inter school culs - Scintillations, is gonna turn out to be the biggest flop... Not only cos of the rains, but cos they neither have the good sponsors, nor the freedom, nor the time to make something worthwile out of it.... Like Vikku says, wait till next year.......

Assignments were decent this time I guess....

So, Adieu till the next post......

~ Love the raiiiinnnnnn~

Long time no c.

It quite some time since I last came online and its a pleasure to be here. And to say the truth, Priory truly rocks but it does need more participation. With the assignments up here, I don't see many posts in the near future but it shall be cool with many. Vikku has had this great idea of setting up such an amazing blog but I'm afraid that he shall be the main reason for Priory to go to shambles. Please Vikku, enough of your gloating, we've won accepted. Gloating could be done on anything new if possible. The culturals are history .
V do rock and the gloating that's been done is actually enough for a lifetime.
So ppl, Diwali/Eid greetings to you'll. Greetings though old, are always gold(haha).
So keep bloggin,
luv n regards,

Victory!

I know it's been just 10 posts since I've said this... but I said it before, I'll say it again... V win.
Certain sources have informed me that the certificates have already been written, and 11 A has been declared the winner. In any case, this post is just a reminder of how I am the greatest culrep ever and the most famous person on Orkut, whom will most certainly be your next culsec.
:D
I love gloating.
Toodles

the haunted house..........

The was a line... they were unhooded.. but garbed in white robes of a strange cloth with many stains...seemingly blood.. but i was unsure...most of the rituals i had witnessed had been a in a dark shadowy place.. this seemed to be throwing me off balance, the corridor being sunlit ... of course, the aura of dark magic lingered around... it was a sunlit room, whitewashed..or rather, yellow-washed walls, pale and not even glimmering in the sunshine,
**
hardly a photographers dream, much less a student's [:D]
**
everyone was waiting for the ringing of the holy bell... one the clarinet would be blown, the door would creak open to reveal the ..horrors within?... i stood hesitently along with the few female worshippers, afraid of having my identity revealed...i didnt want them to sense my fear, or my apprehension... this was after all.. my first time.........
a crystal ringing of presicion and pain.. the holy bell rang... the door was thrown open, with an almighty creak and there.. in the door way, illuminated by the lightning and the flashes... the figure in the doorway was impressive as such but the effects of mother nature's light and sound show improved the appearance...it was, aged, but frighteningly angry... ALBUS DUMBLEDORE? nooooooooooo... it was jaya....a creature feared by all and heeded by none!
**
And then the tubelights stopped flickering and she said "aaaah ulla vaanga"
**
it advanced towards us, making a personal check, calling our sacred names by the order of the law of thier admin system. this was a strange place.. my heart beat increased rapidly as i proceeded to the place where my name was etched... in blood.
** or was it typewriter ink?**
there seemed to be a distraction... several of the followers did not seem to allowed entry beyond a point, seemingly because of the defects in the admin being set right and dealing of severe punishment... i wondered whether who was safer.. me or them...
and thus, the strange apparutus was handed to me and several intsruction dealt out in a low montone... a barely heard rumble... but the point was clear...
*make me cross and you die*
we went marching in quiet meditation to the rocky precipice where the crystal vials were perched. we had to nuetralise several poisons.... and it had to be done just right... for the elder of the admins was seated quietly with an air of dignity and uninterfering, waiting for excellent results from this batch of fuedal scientists and potion makers.
please the elder, and your life was set. *reffering to andy and putting ice for her bahahaha*
the gate keeper/gaurdian/torturer/general flunky if i may, was prowling thru the hallowed halls, making sure nothing went wrong, the crystal vials being expensive and curiously magical.
i poured the crystal clear solution into the long glass tube... keep stirring it clockwise and anticlockwise (this is pure bunkum) and oberserving the colour change... the poison wold be nuetralised only at one point... would i reach it or exceed it...
one of my fellow potion makers exceeded it... he went to report to the incharge .... thunderations! the hall shook with yells and screams... and i turned white with fear, because at that moment, i exceeded it.
howver my life was spared and i was given another chance... i proceed with the this witchcraft...and made a bloody mess of the whole thing...not enough eye of newt i guess or tail of frog..not sure which.
anyway, the terrible ordeal would soon be over... the holy bell was shimmering in the distance...
almost... yes.. it rang... and just as the noose was tightening around my neck, i was free agian. agitated, i ran stumbling back to base... and remembered, my mission is far from over,... every monday, i would have to don the white garb and work for them... neutralising their posions...
what a life i have taken up... i pray.. i escape one day...
until then, i have others.. i have company... lets pray we make it through titrations!!!!!!!
i have to submit my status report tomorrow... and will have to venture to the dreaded place again...i pray for survival. i pray for a pass.
to be continued..............................................

To all Ye C++ Students!!! Project!!

This message goes to all Ye C++ students at P.S! I'm planning to create a C++ Wiki just for us. [Incase you dunno what a wiki is, think Wikipedia but at a smaller scale]. Basically this Wiki can be edited by anyone. What I thought of was that, this Wiki could contain hundreds of Programs in C++ by various methods and other good solutions you've found online or off.. Moreover this Wiki can also contain all the syntaxes, statements/commands and definitions... It will serve as a great reference guide to us the next 2 years and definitely will help in exchanging solutions and finding better programs... What say you?? If you are interested than give your name in the comments and your email address, will mail you an editor invite after I start it.

And superb post chappli!

C++ Challenge:: Find the greatest of 3 Numbers without using any conditional operator, no loops, no functions...

P.S: Non C++ students who are aware of the language are welcome too!

Love 11A, ppl.

11 A simply does rock for all the reasons. Right from having the biggies in it, a composition of 6 girls, 33 boys, 1 ali and a chappli, its the best. So in the aftermath of the intras win, here is a tribute to each and everyone of class 11 A .
Aravind: A good bb champ . He is one of those people in the 'C' gang who seldom mixes freely with all others in the class.
Gokulakrishnan:A nasal fella. He loves the 50 cents .He tried to act like Shivaji in his role of Karna in the annual day play and ended up talking like Nambiar.
Sreekanth: One of the very few 'C' gang guys who mixes with everybody. He is one of those chamathu-turned vaandu pasanga in my class this year.
Ganapathy : An untainted character and some unmatchable Thamizh pattru.A very nice guy within his own domains.
Mithun Adithya: A fun guy totally. Great fun derived ,be it playing cricket or kalaichufying Andi.
Aadithyan: One of the dadas of our class. He simply rocks in whatever he does. But he can get silly at times. I shall not forget the " Why shouldn't Gandhi be happy ?" incident ever.
Vishal Raghu: The one many of them in 11A hate. But this guy earnt us plenty of points in the intras. His hand weaves magic.
Krishna Prasad: He is known as KP in 11A.At times , is a scene party, but then is a very nice guy. But the combo of Aadhi and him can wreck havoc.
Raghavendran:He is one of the two entrants from 10A.A very nice guy.At times fun loving, at times dedicated and at times, serious.
Kaushik: A very good friend from the 7th, and our assisstant class leader. But for his destructive antics, he is a very nice person. And I don't think we could have fun in our Physics, Chem, Maths or Compsci periods but for him.
Arjun: Another very good friend this time from the 6th. 11A has helped reunite our friendship. Sema athlete , great at studies,he rocks overall.
Navneet: One of my closest pals. This guy is one of his own type. He isn't known much in class as many others just because of his small mouth.A great sportsman and awesome at studies. I called him 10E's Arjun until last year but now he is a duplicate in the same class this year.
Rohit Kannan: The most innocent guy in our class.A genius in his own right. Rohit stands unparelleled in many aspects and this makes him a unique guy. Another reason for me liking him is simply coz he is a family friend.
Rangarajan: Some call him "Right Ranga", but this guy is just the opposite. Chamathu payan. Only guy who has the innocence to match that of Rohit. The whole issue of his being like this in spite of being a PSBB alumni is amazing. Randy rocks.Ranga sonna rightaa than irukkum.
Anirudh: Satti ,short and fat. But a very nice guy .This guy has an undiscovered talent, his mokkai. He can kill ya .(speaking from experience) Short tempered but a nice guy overall.
Vishnuvardhan: The "Shakira" of class 11A. Can do any crazy role you present him. He in the process got us our shipwreck. He's gots guts seriously. He's explained to the class poems in English in front of LS .A great addition from SSK.
Jeyenth: One of those fun people in 11A. He enjoys whatever he does and in the process makes us enjoy. A very nice guy. A good rowdy and a great actor for sure. Earned us first places in shipwreck and Adzap which essentially won us the culturals.
Vishwanath: Vishva is one of my good friends thanks to 11A.A nice guy, it'll be fun to hear his comments in class. One of the silent drivers of 11A.
Vijay Murali:Junior M of 11A. He can be vicious when it comes to his mokkai. But when he has to be serious, he can be ultimately serious.
D.Koushik:DK, Elikkutty of our class. The most irritating personality of our class. But without him, we'd be incomplete. Always , 11A is flawless.
Shridhar: One very good pal of mine right from class 9.We have had great times together and now they are only increasing in frequency. A genius , a so -called sportsman, Sori has it all.
V.Vignesh: The king of Priory, the culrep of the great 11A.We had tensions between us but now everything's solved and I ought to thank 11B for that.Vikku, you simply rock!!
Sandeep: This guy has a goofy attitude towards things. A fun guy making wierd noices throughout class and constantly draws attention towards himself.A totally enjoyable guy.
Sriram:Zombi is a king of Physics, lover of fun but at times a morose diappointed person for various reasons. But in all he is one of 11A's most evident personalities.
Prasad: A new guy from SSK.Padips. But is a guy who can time and again come up with some nice comments.A really good guy ,no bad names for him, not kalaichufied by anybody , the idealist.
Shreyas: Bling da. The so-called king of bling. One of the most popular new guys in PS. The ultimate fun guy among new people at 11A.A typical CV guy.AIR 4 Cyber Olympiad.Kalakke.
Gokul:Another integral part of our class.Another genius of 11A.Total fun guy, you can't miss him in our class.
Sudarshan: The latest in the padips group. This guy is turning out to be a nerd.He rocks in tests and is studyin awesome at the moment.Rock da.
Rakesh:Topper of Quarterly exams in our class. He is a perfect nerd. But in no way is he lesser than the others in having fun.Another takkar case.
Shrinivas:Another perfect padips. Senior M/M^2.King of Chemistry/Mokkai.You can't miss him on full swing in our class.
Abhinav:A 10B entrant into 11A. Not known much of him.But I surely shall in the course of time.Anyway, as I already said, 11A students rock.
Narendar:A new entrant from CV.But unlike it. A total mismatch of Shreyas and Suresh sir's favourite student.
Raghu Pradip Narayan: RPN, has been fun right from the start of the year when he said that he was from the IIT campus .He cannot be forgotten simply for the fact that when Ramu sir asked "Enna da ezhudhirikkinga??" and he replied, "Sir, Quarterly exam."and the whole class was in peals of laughter.
Gokul.R:This guy ,I've heard is big rowdy just coz of his chalk throwing abilities but I haven't experienced his abilities so far.Anyway, this guy rocks too.
Lakshmi:Another of my good friends. We have discussed many times last year how class 11A would be if we were all in the same class. And it has taken shape in form of a great class. Our class' topper. I don't think there shall be anyone in PS who doesn't know her. The princi's pet, a genius in her own right.
Divya.P:A softspoken girl from 10B.I actually didn't know she was originally in PS. Just got to know 2 days ago.
Divya: This Divya is from class 10D. I've known her as a good quizzer but now saw her rocking in Dumb C. A good orator and another silent person in our class.
Vaishnavi: A great fan of Simbu, the standard occupier of the first bench in the class.Another person I've seen who grumbles at the mention of IIT.
Vasundhara:I've got to tell this. She's got some awesome English. She has got some great talents. Earned us 20 pts in the intras.
Vasiya:One with a characterestic laugh. From the DAV though known her well for the last 2 years. She can't keep quiet. One girl in our class group who keeps giggling or talking for the full time.
Thank you,all of you.11A is what it is because of you'll and it will continue to be. You'll rock.
And ,11A rocks.
Get near us, in any field , let us see.
k ppl,
keep bloggin,
luv n regards,

The dust hath settled...

OR HAS IT? reports continue of prolonged rivalry amongst 11 a and 11b...
anyhow, my hearty congrats to everyone from 11 a who helped win...even a special mention counts, the margin being very small.
my congrats also go to everyone from 11b and a thanks to them for making culs so intresting, a good competition yes..
will post more tomorrow when im bored. thank god for elections holiday. :D
v.s

take that ne1 who opposes our victory

this is 4 ne class that lost & isnt happy we won AND want to make us lose unfair ly(11b especially)....... I wnna say this again.................... WE WON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ummmmmmmmmmm......nutin special

hiya boys n gals, this is ani from 11a n this is my first blog........so, lets make it formally simple.........11a won the intras...yaaaaaaaaaaahoooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! we won...wewon.....we won....oh ya, oh ya....we won........!!!!!

Wednesday, October 11, 2006

Yeah yeah u won.... so?

Well.... I know I may sound realllllllly prejudiced while saying this, stop behaving like a two year old people!!!!! You may even call it the sour grapes theory....

Yeah, you won the intras.... Yep again, you won it by 4 damn points.... But that doesnt mean you get to call us 11-B bitches... Touches a nerve aint it?

If you lot had been in our position, I swear, you would have created a major hype about the whole issue, thousand times worse than what we supposedly did.

and 11-A angels? Isnt that a little too overboard?

And well.... I do offer my congratulations to you guys. You did win fair and square. No squalms about it, but stop rubbing salt in the wounds k?

And a minor note to Chappli - Not all of us are capable of crying openly, for something as lousy as loosing the culs...... Not all of us are capable of shedding tears on a whim for god knows what reason......

So, bitter as we are for losing, congrats 11-A.....

EH?

Yes, I am supposedly a part of this blog , though most of you would beg to differ . here's my first post! I just wanted to point out that my name is on the list of contributors!! And i have done nothing but not contribute! :D . So there! Now I'm atleast worthy of the title of a contributor that, has been bestowed upon me!
may the force be with you .
sharanya

V for Victory!

That's right. V (pun intended) beat the holy hell out of 11 B's candy ass.
I did a great job of selecting the right people, especially not letting any single person to win more than 2 events (max.), well enough about me... I hate talking about myself.

I gotta give a lot of credit to everyone in 11 A who contributed their best to our victory. So without further adieu, turn back time (read only :P so no cheating 11 B bitches) and let me recap you on everything's that's been done by us 11 A(A for Angels)

Quiz - Me and Shridhar had quite an argument on our 3rd member. Had we taken Sriram, and sent Chappli to the other team, with Prasad and Shreyas, we could have as well qualified with both teams just like 10 B but nooooo sorimaa won't let me. Still Chappli was on form, and we came 2nd in finals, losing out to the 9 A team. Quite a lot of controversy was brought up thanks to a single 100 rupee note.

Creative Writing
- I didn't expect us to win, but Vasundhara did her best.

Face Painting - Vishal worked his magic again, but when it took me some time to find a person ready to lend their face, Abhinav helped us out just in the nick of time.

Dumb C - Lady luck was with us, and both teams (me, shrids, gokul and gl, vasu, divya) qualified! They messed up with the scoring but we prevailed. Had Amogh been there with me, he surely would've guessed WORMS!!!! Still, after some bit of controversy, we came 3rd while the other team came 2nd.

Block 'n' Tackle - Shreyas was amazing!!

Shipwreck - I was seriously amazed at the turn of events with Shipwreck. True both Jeyenth and Vishnu did an excellent job, dancing as Nayantara and learning languages just to converse respectively. We scored first(J) and third(V) places.

Junk Art - T'was seriously shitty, with Vaishnavi and GL helping me get junk from the school while Vishal went to fetch his paints. We did quite a good job, but we didn't win.

JAM - I was really looking forward to JAM, especially after seeing Rohit, speed reader go at it. But Shridhar again convinced me to send Chappli since he had qualified last year. We flopped... too bad the judges didn't cut marks for him spitting on them.

Rangoli - I really have no clue what happened here, but Vaishnavi and Divya got a special mention.

Spin-a-yarn - Gokul begged me to send him but I wouldn't :P Shreyas and Vishnu did an amazing job, but the judges were biased, and gave them only a special mention. Deepti herself admitted that the scores were pretty much screwed up.

Classical music - OMG! Vishnu was amazing, albeit solo. But bad bad judges, no score for us.

Light Music - Sreekanth, KP, Aadhi and I think it was Gokul. If there was a prize for original lyrics, we'd have definitely won.

Punchline - I still don't know what the winning punchlines were... bloody bs. Satti and Gokul did a real good job and ended up with a special mention... there seems to be a pattern here.

Lexicon - 11 B came first as expected, but Rohit, Vasundhara and Prasad exceeded expectations by coming second, beating 11 C by a mere point.

Poetry - According to Poornima I was supposed to get a place, but the decision was changed God knows why.

Adzap - Ultimate combo - Jeyenth and Aadhi. Semma comedy they did. Sandeep, Ganapathy, Gokul and BK just added more fun. Jeyenth was our hero there.

Jewellery Designing - I don't know what this event was itself, and sent Vishal and Vaishnavi for it. To hell with this event.

99th post!

99th post! That's a great milestone in the history of the Priory... hard to believe a term has flown by.
My brainchild, ze blog must continue and survive throughout the generations to come.
So, once most of the present 10th std. students pass into 11th, I will make them create a blog of their own, or let them join this one so everyone could share their fun.
Once our batch is out of 12th, it would be really great to keep in touch with the "present" generation of PSites!!!
Anyway, this is just a filler for 99.

We are the champions!

I've paid my dues, time after time
I've done my sentence, but committed no crime
And bad mistakes, I've made a few
I've had my share of sand, kicked in my face
But I've come through

And I need to go on and on and on and on
We are the champions, my friend
And we'll keep on fighting till the end
We are the champions, We are the champions
No time for losers 'cos we are the champions of the world

I've taken my bows, and my curtain calls
You've bought me fame and fortune
And everything that goes with it... I thank you all
But it's been no bed of roses, no pleasure cruise
I consider it a challenge before the whole human race
And I ain't gonna lose

And I need to go on and on and on and on
We are the champions, my friend
And we'll keep on fighting till the end
We are the champions, We are the champions
No time for losers 'cos we are the champions of the world

We are the champions, my friend
And we'll keep on fighting till the end
We are the champions, We are the champions
No time for losers, 'cos we are the champions

We will we will rock you!

Buddy you're a boy make a big noise
Playing in the street gonna be a big man some day
You got mud on yo' face, you big disgrace
Kicking your can all over the place

Singing
We will we will rock you
We will we will rock you

Buddy you're a young man hard man
Shouting in the street gonna take on the world some day
You got blood on yo' face, you big disgrace
Waving your banner all over the place

We will we will rock you
We will we will rock you

Buddy you're an old man poor man
Pleading with your eyes gonna make you some peace some day
You got mud on your face, you big disgrace
Somebody better put you back into your place

We will we will rock you... singing
We will we will rock you... everybody
We will we will rock you
We will we will rock you

A race to the finish!!!!

As Judgement day looms nearer and nearer, the intras' contenders, viz. 10 D, 11 A and 11 B are battling out till the finish!
With the last total being
10 D - 115
11 A - 99
11 B - 92
and considering the points won recently, which is
10 D - 10 for S-A-Y
11 A - 5 for B&T and 2 for S-A-Y and 10 for Lexicon
11 B - 5 for S-A-Y and 30 for Lexicon

we are now at
10 D - 125
11 A - 116
11 B - 127

Now the ultimate decision will be with the winners of Quiz... whoever gets 1st place in Quiz among the 3 will win overall...

Let me explain the scenario in terms of DBZ episodes:

  • 85. The Renewed Goku
That would be a metaphor for Chappli who was renewed with the new gel between us, putting all tensions between myself and him aside, coming together for a common goal.
  • 86. The End of Vegeta
That would be me metaphorically, cracking down due to tension.
  • 87. The Ultimate Battle
That would be the Quiz (the one which was conducted).
  • 88. Clash of The Super Powers
That would be the cold war between me and the seniors, which was a result of the Quiz results.
  • 89. Frieza’s Boast
That would be 11 B acting as if they won Quiz.
  • 90. Bold and Fearless
That would be me and Chappli going to LS.
  • 91. Embodiment of Fire
That would be LS when she made the decision of a re-quiz.
  • 92. Trump Card
That would be the final option 11 A has with Quiz.
  • 93. Keep Chances Alive
That would be the strategy developed by 11 A in hopes of winning.
  • 94. Power of The Spirit
That would be Shridhar's inherent abilities.
  • 95. Transformed at Last
That would be me, who will transform into something better during the Quiz (which will be conducted shortly).
  • 96. Explosion of Anger
That would be the seniors' rage due to 11 A winning.
  • 97. Namek’s Destruction
That would be the chaos which is doomed to engulf the whole of 10th, 11th and 12th.
  • 98. A Final Attack
That would be 11 B announcing the battle for scores of TFE.
  • 99. Approaching Destruction
That would be our turn in TFE.
  • 100. Gohan Returns
That would be Vasundhara motivating our nerdy class.
  • 101. The Last Wish
That would be our last plea to the seniors to be "fair" in their correction and not screw us for once.
  • 102. Duel on a Vanishing Planet
That would be 11 A vs. 11 B.
  • 103. Pathos of Frieza
That would be 11 B crying about their loss.
  • 104. Frieza Defeated!!
That would be 11 B finally taken out and 11 A emerging victorious.

See how informative DBZ episodes can be!!!! In the words of Vegito, "Anye nappaba!!"

And thus, the countdown to the Priory's 100th post begins.

For cricket fans.

The ICC Champions trophy is all set to begin and lets have a look at the strengths and weaknesses of each team .
India: The Home Favourites
Strengths:
Advantage of playing in front of a home crowd and their recent record when playing at home. Their big batsmen — Sehwag, Tendulkar, Dhoni, Yuvraj and Dravid — will look forward to playing at home and getting back to scoring runs.
Weaknesses:
Recent form. They have won only two of their last eight ODIs. After setting a record in chasing down targets, the team suddenly seems to have developed a mental block when going after a target as was illustrated in the sudden batting collapses in the West Indies and KL. Fielding is still shaky.
Opportunities: A chance to beat the best on the world stage and erase recent bitter memories. The tournament will also enable India to test their big-match nerves again and for bowlers like Irfan Pathan to get back to wicket-taking form.
Threats: Playing at home, there is always the risk of pressure from fans. Fans adore the team's success, but if the team does badly, they will let them know it.
Pakistan:
The Unpredictables
Strengths: One of the few sides blessed with equally explosive bowling, batting and all-round talent. Generally led by the unflappable Inzamam-ul Haq, around whom the batting will revolve is absent, they also have the sublime Md Yousuf, the gutsy Younis Khan, the exciting Shahid Afridi and the resourceful Abdul Razzaq. The bowling attack looks frightening with Shoaib Akhtar, Md Yousuf, Abdul Razzaq, Naved-ul Hasan, Umar Gul, Afridi, Shoaib Malik and Md Hafeez.
Weaknesses: The Oval Test hangover is still bothering the Pakistanis. There are also rumours of problems between Bob Woolmer and the rest of the team. The PCB chairman Sharyar Khan has resigned today and after some problems Younis Khan is back to captaincy.
Opportunities: Like Australia, they have somehow never done well in the Champions Trophy. In case they meet India, it is a good chance for them to extract revenge for the 1-4 defeat they suffered at home in February. Threats: The unpredictability factor somehow refuses to leave them. If they play badly one day, they might just play worse the following day. And their fielding just went from bad to worse against India and England.
England:
The Outsiders
Strengths: A young and talented squad high on confidence thanks to the side's 2-2 draw in ODIs against Pakistan at home. With Andrew Flintoff in charge, the side won't be lacking in inspiration either as the burly all-rounder showed in the Test win at Mumbai last season.
Weaknesses: The bowling. It came apart when they were in India last season. Harmison and Flintoff desperately need support as Matthew Hoggard is being preserved for the Ashes. The selectors seem to have blundered by not selecting Monty Panesar.
Opportunities: To prove that a young team with little experience can still win matches on exuberance and perseverance. They also meet a low-on-confidence India in the first match.
Threats: Being a young team, they can come apart if under pressure. Some members may be thinking about the Ashes series.
Australia:
The Favourites
Strengths: Explosive batting and bowling combinations and the ability to exert pressure on opponents. The DLF Cup tri-series in Kuala Lumpur provided ample evidence of how even their second XI (with guys like Mitchell Johnson, Brad Haddin) is battle-ready. Adam Gilchrist will be back to provide the early momentum and with Ricky Ponting, the two Michaels - Clarke and Hussey - and Andrew Symonds in charge of the middle-order, the batting looks scary. With bowlers like Brett Lee and Glenn McGrath, the fear factor will only increase. Their great fielding is almost like an extra bowler.
Weaknesses: At the risk of nit-picking, the top-order batting. Without Hayden it looks dodgy. Fall of quick wickets could stifle the freedom of strokeplayers like Hussey and Symonds in the middle-order as was seen in KL.
Opportunities: The world champions have a great chance to correct their average performance in the tournament. They have never advanced beyond the semifinals. But if they beat sides convincingly, it will create indelible scars on opponents.
Threats: Their over-confidence and a tendency to play for a situation six months down the line. In ODIs, it's the here and now that counts.
Sri Lanka:
The Form Team
Strengths: An inspired leader in Mahela Jayawardene, who has suddenly infused new life into the team, and a huge upsurge in their ODI form after thrashing England 5-0 in England. Not only is Jayawardene in good captaincy form, he is also in outstanding batting form. With Kumar Sangakkara, Tillakaratne Dilshan, Upul Tharanga and old fox Sanath Jayasuriya also around, Sri Lanka are well placed to score big. Vaas, Muralitharan and Dilhara Fernando are bowlers with good striking power.
Weaknesses: They might still be nursing their wounds after the 6-1 humiliation they suffered at the hands of India. A lot depends on the striking powers of Vaas and Muralitharan. If they fail to get wickets, Maharoof and the rest of the bowlers don't have enough experience to contain the scoring.
Opportunities: To see how they perform under pressure.
Threats: Advancing age. Atapattu, Muralitharan, Vaas and Jayasuriya are all on the wrong side of 30 and they may just be found wanting in terms of sprightliness in the field. Their part-time spinners may not work on the flat wickets of India.
South Africa:
The Challengers
Strengths: The team is on a huge high thanks to two 400-plus scores in 2006. Of course neither they nor the world has still forgotten the wonder at Wanderers when they chased 434 against Australia. Graeme Smith, Herschelle Gibbs, Jacques Kallis, Justin Kemp and AB De Villiers, Mark Boucher form a solid batting line-up and in Andre Nel, Makhaya Ntini, Shaun Pollock and Jacques Kallis, the bowling looks menacing. Let's not even talk about the fielding. They'll be nothing short of brilliant there.
Weaknesses: Their track record in ODIs in India is not very impressive. The lack of a quality spinner can also hurt them.
Opportunities: To show the world what they did in Johannesburg wasn't a fluke. They would dearly love to meet Australia and beat them again. They would also enjoy beating India to gain revenge for having been knocked out in the 2000 and 2002 editions.
Threats: The match fixing case over Herschelle Gibbs just refuses to go away and it might just stalk the Proteas again and distract them from their goal.
New Zealand:
The Innovators
Strengths: A team sans stars, they will be a great outside bet to go all the way. They are well led by Stephen Fleming, a superb batsman himself. In Nathan Astle, Hamish Marshall, Scott Styris, the dangerous Brendon McCullum and Lou Vincent, they have a destructive batting lineup. Never mind the rough outfields of India, they will throw themselves around and be one of the fielding delights of the tournament. And of course in the pacy Shane Bond, they have a strike bowler who can run through a side on his day.
Weaknesses: Apart from Bond the bowling has too much of a sameness to it. The medium pace of Scott Styris, Jacob Oram and Nathan Astle won't bother too many batsmen on the flat tracks in India. Lack of spin bowling support for the best left-arm-spinner in the world: Daniel Vettori.
Opportunities: To show that their lone triumph in Kenya in 2000 wasn't a fluke. The Champions Trophy will also give them a chance to prove to the cricketing fraternity that they can really play good ODI cricket in the subcontinent. Apart from Sri Lanka, they haven't won tournaments in Asia.
Threats: The conditions that exist in India and being placed in a group with both South Africa and Pakistan. With the form these two teams are currently in, a defeat to either one or both of them could see them taking an early flight home
West Indies:
The Defenders
Strengths: The batting. Chris Gayle, Ramnaresh Sarwan, Brian Lara and Shivnarine Chanderpaul are as dangerous a batting quartet you can get, especially when the Power Plays are on. With Dwayne Bravo, Wavell Hinds and Carlton Baugh to take care of the fireworks later in the innings, the side looks set to make merry on friendly wickets.
Weaknesses: Over-dependence on Gayle and Lara. As was evident in Kuala Lumpur, the two matches West Indies lost easily were when Gayle and Lara failed. Their bowling is a serious worry and with Corey Collymore having a long-lasting affair with injuries, that weakness is exaggerated. The quickies also need to take lessons from former greats in not conceding extras. They bowled 58 wides and 13 no balls in five matches in KL. That's not up to international standard and their think-tank must be burning the midnight oil over it.
Opportunities: If they get past Zimbabwe and Bangladesh in the qualifying stages, which they should, they will have a great chance to continue the psychological advantage they currently hold against India when they meet the hosts in Ahmedabad as second qualifiers behind Sri Lanka.
Threats: Sudden batting collapses of the kind they experienced in three of the five games in the DLF Cup.
We do not have much to day about Zimbabwe which is at the minima of its cricketing experience and the Bangladeshis who are slowly developing towards getting the cricketing giant in them outside.

One step closer HELL YEAH!

Honestly speaking, I wanted Quiz to be the last event, so that I personally could make a bigger bang and boost my image.... ;) but sadly, since LS wouldn't allow Sindhu to keep Lexicon and Spin-a-yarn on the first day back, and creepy little *******s 9 A stole my spotlight.
How could I forget a "player" in multi!!!! :(
Still, we got 2nd, thanks to 9 A passing every damn question in their rapid fire round just to be safe not to get any negatives... but hey, I would've done the same thing! :P
Now with Shreyas getting a 3rd place in B&T, doesn't matter for us that 11 B had to get a place in Quiz.
We have a safe lead of 27 points over 11 B, and are on the road to victory, and here are our options.
Option A: Worst case scenario
Lexicon: 11 B win their speciality event, and 11 A gets a special mention.
Spin-a-yarn: All the winners are only from the junior classes, with 11 A getting a special mention.
Result: 11 A wins by a margin of ONE point... 128 to 127

Option B: Best case scenario
Lexicon: 11 A wins first, 11 B doesn't get a spot.
Spin-a-yarn: Ditto
Result: 11 A wins 158 beating the rest by a wider margin

I assure you that in either case 11 A is going to win, but only one thing stops me from boasting:
The seniors.... Well I have honestly pissed off more seniors than I can count, and all I can assume is that they are all plotting 11 A's downfall, which might be the only slight hindrance in our path.
Still, if we DO lose, there's always the Farewell party. Payback's a bitch, and the seniors will get to know why in that case.

OH and just for the record, ROFL is not the abbreviation for "pass".

One step closer to the edge!

XI A struck Jackpot today with 25 points giving us a 27-point lead over XI B in the Intras!! One step closer definitely!! But we ain't gonna be complacent, no sir! Lexicon and Spin-o-yarn, it's upto Rohith & Co to seal it in Lexicon cause that might be the crucial event but nevertheless, spin-o-yarn is still there. Chappli, Shridhar and Vikku got 2nd in Quiz, missed first place by a hair, I must say. Sadly, Vikku missed it in his niche - Expand MMORPG and a single player ruined the first place. Ofcourse the winners 1X were bloody bad quizzers seeing the fact that that they won by 5 points and in the last round they give a blank to everything so not to have any -ve! Oh! Well!!!

And I got 3rd in Block and Tackle, so that's adds up 5 more..Sharanya spoke some fantastic crap about her topic "This topic isn't worth talking" or sommit. It demanded crap and she spoke just that. I was not at my best. Being my first attempt, had a bit of confusion about the Block and tackle thingies and could have got 2nd, had I done a little bit better and understood the topic better as well...

Chappli as usual school topper in AMTI - kalaks!

And one last word, my phone is not working at the moment. Hopefully will get okay tomorrow!

Cheers

IX A - A thorn in our flesh.

So finally quiz and block and tackle are over. And winners unofficially announced.
Block and tackle, as the judges put it, Sharanya was "chanceless" and 11D ends up first , followed by some crappie junior class. And the third goes to the Chronocracker Shreyas, thanks to the bling power in turn earning 5 points for 11A. Vasanth of 10 E gets a special mention.
And cometh quiz, Ravikiran Ramaswamy has something in store from us. The last round. 11B are third after their chance of rapid fire with 40 points. 11A with 50 tied with 9A. 11A don't take the risk in 4 questions and finally Vikku gets one abbreviate almost right when Arka rules us wrong. And we are reduced to 45. And now comes 9A's chance. And the damned fools did not attempt a single of their 5 questions leaving us at the 2nd position. The gains we got finally were that we overtook 10D by around 10 and 11B by 27 points and are now at the top of the table. A decent performance in Spin-a-yarn and Lexicon would assure us of the championship this year.
So great going guys.
And finally, I would like to congragulate Shreyas for an All India Rank 4 in the National Cyber Olympiad first round. Great job da bling.
Keep blogging ,
luv n regards,

The beginning of the end

The marks, that came out on Wednesday, could shock me no more than all that I've been through. Cheated of 9 marks in maths, Iam utterly frustrated with my absymal performance in all the subjects.

The total came out to be pretty decent though crossing a 415, but that isnt really what I expected. English, was the only subject where I was actually happy with my score, a 89. Bio was pretty decent too.

But all that apart, second term is shaping out to be even more hilarious than the first. My dislike for some teachers - read maths - has increased infinitely. We were taught some complex maths like how in a right triangle, sum of square of two sides is equal to square of hypotenuse. And what sine of teta was etc... After all that, we were taught what an angle was! And adding on to this, some trigonometric identities, namely, cosecant is the reciprocal of sine etc....

Man, this term is hard, I wonder how Iam going to cope with such humongous portions, that too soooo complex to understand that we have been learning it from the ninth std.....

~ Visibly Frustrated~

Great relief.

It's a great relief that the marks are out . And to make things official, the toppers of class 11 A are Rakesh and Lakshmi with a total of 427 on 500 each (assuming a 30 in chem practicals for both) and in class 11 D is Srinath with 432 on 500(with the same assumption). So anyone with updates on 11 B can post it on the blog. I shall try to post the highest marks in each subject of classes 11 A and D as soon as I come to know.
P.S: Heard a rumour that someone in 11D got 94 in English. Please confirm.
By the way, Vikku ,the new format of the Priory page is cool.Keep it up!!
Finally, it is nice to Shruthi with a anti -gloomy (I won't call it cheerful for sure) blog once again. Cheers, antimony.

The D-Day!!!

I don't think tomorrow is the day to be called a d-day ,because of two simple reasons, one, I've never given my school marks a damn, and two, I've got to know my marks approximately in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Anyway tomorrow will be one of the worst days of the term with our principal giving advice like "Study well ,children. Work hard." ,when everyone would be at the height of anxiety to know their marks. But this is surely the no-fun term. But for the climax of our culturals and Scintillations, I don't see anything great in prospect this term. And to top it all , we won't have a great third term either with exams up on February.Tomorrow shall mark the reversal of fortunes of PS'ites this year.
Heard K.S.Suresh sir has quit school. People having more information , please confirm.
It'll be interesting to know who this time is the topper in class 11. A totally new batch, with new people. But I consider the correction to be unfair. I've seen Lalitha miss being super-liberal in chemistry, whereas just the opposite is seen in Anandavalli miss and Sundari miss. Sivakumar sir is amazingly strict whereas Chitra miss is an optimum examiner. God knows what Aparna miss does. Heard she gives marks at places you don't deserve and cuts at places you deserve. So you can't say anything about her mark giving. Maths ,you have the famed UV as the strictest and KSS as the most linient. Sankararaman sir comes somewhere in the middle. The other subjects I don't know much, but Computer Science for sure, the task of cutting marks is heralded by Ramamurthi sir.
Finally ,wish you people all the best. May the best happen.

The D-Day Awaits....

The holidays are over before they even seemed to start.... This is soooo annoying.... And to make things better, we get the proof of our incredible performances in the exam tomorrow...

Apparently, there are 3 60's in chem in my class. And B - sec has done the best in chem, followed by A and then by D. Though there are no sixties in physics here, there is one in A sec, and even a rumour that Adithyan has gotten a 69.5....

But back to what I was saying, hols have really lost their meaning. When school's up and about, nothing would really make us more happy than a day off. But when you do get holidays, and you end up having 7 hrs class per day, I really dunno what to say.

And so, here's one final post, before I get cremated tomorrow.... Adieu!

P.S - Let's hope for the best!
