An act of recklessness, well rewarded

Most of the people would know what Iam talking about. Today was a pretty interesting day to say the least. Till lunch break, it all went on like any other boring day.. But the fifth period when the announcement was made that tomorrow was going to be only a half day, hell broke loose..

I seriously lost my mind I think, but in the process, gained some awful recklessness and faceless courage and got this action planted in my head to go ask prinicipal to give us a day off tomorrow. I was about to go right out, and asked if Pavi wanted to go with me... Pavi suggested that we might have to go ask our class teacher first. And all the while, Jaya was telling me I was being ridiculously foolish.

So we went and met Subhashini maam. And I asked her,

" Would I really get scr- looked down upon, if I were to go and request for a holiday tomorrow. Would I be in trouble?"

~ I almost said screwed, but then realized, I was talking to a teacher. Thank God for small mercies.~

She adviced to go in a group instead of one single person. And so we came and asked a couple of girls from our class, and from A section. Lakshmi was willing, and so was Vasu and Divya. In my class, Swe and Jaya, said they would come.

As we were just planning to go meet Lakshmi maam, Usha maam comes up the stairs and fixes me with the trademark glare of hers. And guess what everyone else did? THEY BLOODY CHICKENED OUT and ran into the classes.. I was mortified for a minute.

But, somehow I just went and asked her what I wanted to. And three guesses what the answer would have been, ( The first two dont count )

Then somehow, theses people also came, and we went and met LS... Its the first time in my life, that I've talked so respectfully and sugary sweet to a teacher.

" Maam we'd be really grateful if you can give us the day off tomorrow. Chemistry the day after, and there is a lot to study.. We need the time... "

She seemed pretty considerate enough, and told us that she couldnt really do anything, and asked us to approach the principal directly, when a couple of ninth stds came in and DEMANDED a holiday tomorrow saying that most people were planning to bunk anyway, so they might as well give a holiday.

Wow, that was one arrogant stand to take, that too with the vice principal... LS just told them to get lost and that ninth wouldnt even be considered for a holiday tomorrow.

So then, me Lakshmi and Pavi went and met principal.

Principal asked me about how my hand was and and how I was going to write the exam, and I caught on to that, and told her it was about that we needed to talk.

Then we proceeded to tell her that we thought it would be really helpful if there was a holiday tomorrow, and that tenth to eleventh was a big jump and that we reallly needed the time for chem and all, and she sounded pretty positive, but then she asked us to call Usha maam and said that she will announce after discussing with her.

So we went met Usha maam, and told her, and almost begged her to support us, but she didnt really sound convinced

We waited and waited and waited... 2.55 , and no sign of an announcement.. Thinking it was Mission Impossible, we decided to pack our bags, when Shivkumar sir announces that tomorrow was a holiday


WOOTS!!!!!! ;)

And boy that made the day!!!!

So then, me and Pavi went and met principal again, thanked her profusely, and here I am..!!!!
